The St. Amant Volunteer Fire Department reminds Ascension residents to prepare for low temperatures next week, stated Chief Officer James E. LeBlanc.

Ascension Residents are reminded that the use of cooking burners and ovens is not a good idea to heat your home during the expected low cold temperatures coming our way in the next couple days, stated LeBlanc.

A two vehicle accident near the Diversion Canal closed Hwy 22 for several hours Monday morning stated Chief Officer James E. LeBlanc of the St. Amant Volunteer Fire Department.

The St. Amant Fire Department Vehicle Rescue Team was dispatched to the accident Monday morning at 07:51 am which involved a small truck and an 18 wheeler. The 18 wheeler did not leak any of the material he was carrying, stated LeBlanc.

The St. Amant Volunteer Fire Department and Vehicle Rescue Team responded Friday morning to the intersection of Gold Place Road and George Lambert Road for a two vehicle crash, stated Chief Officer James E. LeBlanc. The accident occurred at 08:48 am.

One St. Amant resident was transported to a local facility by Acadian Ambulance ground units, stated LeBlanc.
