St. Amant firefighter Taylor Savoy recently graduated from the LSU Fire and Emergency Training Institute after completing a 14-week rookie academy, stated Chief Officer James E. LeBlanc.

Savoy received certifications in EMS Medical Responder, Firefighter I & II and Apparatus Driver / Operator.

Shortly after 4:27 PM on January 7, 2015, Ascension Parish 911 center received several calls reporting a serious vehicle accident on Amite River Road near the Diversion Canal Road in the St. Amant Community. The St. Amant Diversion Canal Fire-Rescue (Station 63) was dispatched on the initial report of a one vehicle that struck a tree with unknown occupants and injuries.

The St. Amant Vehicle Rescue Team responded with Acadian Ambulance ground units; one Ascension Parish resident was extricated from the vehicle and transported to an area hospital with moderate injuries.… Continue Reading

The St. Amant Volunteer Fire Department responded to a dumpster fire on Sunday evening in the parking lot of a local St. Amant business. According to St. Amant fire officials, firefighters observed an active fire of ordinary combustibles and plastic products which were contained within the dumpster.
