St. Amant Fire Department members recently took part in a four hour Confined Space Rescue Training course, covering techniques for safely removing victims from inside tanks, manholes and other hard-to-reach spaces.

Confined Space Rescue represents one of the most challenging and dangerous rescue operations undertaken by local fire departments today.

As part of the training session, members were also trained in Incident Command Systems, Knots/Hitches & Equipment, Anchor & Rigging, Lowering & Hauling Operations, Patient Packaging, Tripod Set-up and Air Monitoring.… Continue Reading

On July 13, 2013 the St. Amant Fire Department was dispatched to Gold Place Road near Thomassie Road for a single vehicle accident. A St. Amant resident survived serious injuries during the accident.

At the time of this report, the cause of the incident is still being investigated by the Louisiana State Police and the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office.
